AUGUST GNO: Reign Rugby U14 Intro Tackle Rugby League

The Reign Rugby U14 Introduction to Tackle Rugby League program provides a safe, structured pathway for young athletes transitioning into contact rugby. Its purpose is to build confidence, competence, and game understanding while prioritizing player welfare and long-term athlete development.

The program addresses the need for progressive contact exposure at a key developmental age, ensuring players learn correct technique early, reduce injury risk, and develop the physical and decision-making skills required for competitive play. It also strengthens our player pathway by preparing athletes for high school and academy rugby environments.

Delivery will be progressive and coach-led, focusing on tackle technique, contact readiness, game awareness, and core skills. Sessions will follow best-practice coaching standards, emphasizing safety, skill acquisition, and enjoyment. Match day rules will be modified where appropriate to enhance player development and maximize safety.

This initiative supports player retention, performance development, and the continued growth of Reign Rugby’s long-term athlete development pathway.
